Telugu Folks Averse to out of State Travel?

Telugu people from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana seem to be loving their states so much that they rarely go outside both the states for leisure, recreation or holidaying. This was revealed by in the Key Indicators in Domestic Tourism in India 2014-15 report of the NSSO. Only Odisha people are more averse to such trips than Telugu people.

The report says that only 8.1 per cent people took overnight trips outside the state in 2014-15 for holidaying, leisure, recreation, medical or shopping purposes. The people of Haryana prefers out of state travel most with 38 per cent. Even in the case of Telugu people who took such trips, overnight trips for social, religious, business and medical purposes are much higher in both states as compared to leisure.

However in terms of the percentage of single woman travellers making overnight trips for leisure, health and shopping, AP and Telangana score highest with 53 per cent for AP and 60 per cent for Telangana.
