Thousands of GHMC voters go missing

Forget about deletion of votes, here is the new case of thousands of voters in GHMC limits who go ‘missing’. Their names do not figure even in the electoral rolls or the deleted list. Most of these missing voters have exercised their vote in the last elections too.

Now they are left only with voter identity card which will be useless even to check the status of one’s voter identity card. ‘Missing’ voters seeking help through this system promptly get a standard reply: your voter ID is not found.

6.3 Lakh voters were removed from the electoral rolls stating various reasons and it already created a huge controversy back in the capital. The problem with this missing voters is that there is no way we can ascertain the exact number of missing voters because there is no mechanism to do so.
