Time for KTR to Walk the Talk

Municipal Minister K Taraka Ramarao the other day went on to say that the city has received 500% more rainfall this year and so the infrastructure of the city crumbled. But then, the truth is far from KTR’s coverup in this issue.

Even though the city registered the highest rainfall this season, the truth is that civic amenities are not even ready for normal rainfall. Most of the roads which were laid recently crumbled even under light showers which indicates their quality.

It is a fact that the roads got crumbled even before the heavy rains set in. People allege that the authorities are not following the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) guidelines while carrying out road restoration. All they do is mere cosmetic repairs which will wash away with little rains.

KTR had promised to Act and not talk more. People should be hoping that it is not just another promise we hear with out actual work on the ground. With elections less than two years away, KTR should walk the talk or else the 24 constituencies coming under Twin Cities will be a challenge to battle.
