Tokyo Olympics: AP and Telangana’s Tally

Olympics, the biggest sporting event in the world will begin tomorrow in Tokyo, Japan. This year Olympics is happening when the World is gripping under the fear of Coronavirus. Audience are not being allowed into the stadia to keep the athletes safe and to allow the event happen.

There are fifteen Olympic medalists from India so far. Haryana has contributed five of them to the nation. Both the Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have contributed only one each medalist to the nation’s tally

Karanam Malleshwari from Andhra Pradesh and PV Sindhu from Telangana are the medalists. Karnam Malleshwari won the Bronze medal in 2000 Sydney Olympics for Weight Lifting. PV Sindhu has become the first Indian woman to earn an Olympic silver medal in 2016 Brazil Olympics.

Hopefully, the athletes from both the Telugu States will add to the tally in Tokyo bringing more medals and glory to the country.
