Tokyo Olympics: Remaining Medal Chances For India

India has bagged the third medal in Tokyo Olympics. Lovlina Borgohai bagged a Bronze medal in Boxing. She has won the medal in Women’s Welterweight, Boxing (64-69 Kg). She has lost the semi-final bout to top seed Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey.

She has become the only third Indian boxer after Vijender Singh and Mary Kom to win an Olympic medal. India has got three medals in this sporting event now. Mirabai Chanu has won a Silver medal in 49 Kgs Weightlifting. PV Sindhu has bagged a bronze in Badminton.

Interestingly, all the three medals India won are by female sportspersons. Meanwhile, Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the Javelin Throw finals. He is ranked one in the twelve finalists. India has a chance of another medal in Neeraj Chopra. India Men’s Hockey team will play the bronze match. India women’s hockey team has created history by reaching the semi-finals for the first time in history.

Wrestlers – Ravi Kumar Dahiya (57kg), Deepak Punia (86kg) have also made their way into the semi-finals. We will have to see if there is Gold somewhere here!
