TRS Govt. high handed attitude on L&T

Despite the Central government’s constant intervention, various departments of the Telangana government continue to create roadblocks to L&T, the concessionaire of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. Both the parties looked like they arrived at a consensus regarding the alignment changes, but there are other issues that are plaguing the project. Also the government had not finalized the total amount they will be bearing to make those changes.

The project is yet to get all the required right of ways for the smooth construction. Apart from this, state government departments frequently stopped work, alleging violations by the developer or its sub-contractors and even seized construction equipment.

Recently the state fire services department alleged that the developer is not sticking to National Building Code norms and halted work at several places. On the other side, L&T claims to adhere to the norms of the National Fire Protection Association.
