TRS office – an illegal construction!

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Office in Old city is currently under scanner after it is alleged that certain portions of the cellar, ground plus three upper floor structure were constructed without obtaining permission from the GHMC. The office is located at Etebar Chowk, diagonally opposite the Mir Chowk police station.

GHMC officials inspected the building and confirmed that it is illegal and served notices to proprietor Rashid Shareef, who had contested the Hyderabad parliamentary seat on a TRS ticket against sitting member of parliament Asaduddin Owaisi. It is said that Owaisi himself gave the tip-off to the Corporation.

It is said that the corporation had sought the sanction plans and other documents and if it is not according to the norms, it will be demolished. However Shareef claims that he had sought the regularisation of the building under the building penalisation (BPS) scheme and the application is pending. If the application is true, the corporation can not take action irrespective of the fact that the application was either accepted or rejected.
