TRS’ victory is much bigger than it appears!

Telangana Rashtra Samiti bagged 99 divisions in GHMC elections which is a historical feat. But there is much more than that for the ruling party. TRS managed to double the number of votes they received in Assembly elections.

TRS which got 7.82 Lakh votes in 2014, now managed 14.68 Lakhs. The votebank of TDP, BJP and Congress lost more than half of their votebank. TDP-BJP alliance got 14.66 Lakh votes in 2014 and now managed 7.85 Lakhs.

The main opposition party, Congress also lost big time. The party managed 6.19 Lakh votes in 2014, just managed 3.48 Lakh votes. MIM which bagged significant number of divisions also lost good votebase. The party managed 11.42 Lakh votes but only got 5.30 Lakhs but luckily held on to the seats.
