TS Elections: New Targets In Hyderabad

As election day in Hyderabad nears, politicians are targeting apartments to win votes. With over a lakh apartments in the city, each holding a mix of people, candidates are trying to figure out who their potential supporters are based on things like caste and community.

To connect with voters, politicians are visiting apartments, meeting with residents, and promising improvements. Some even pledge to install CCTV cameras, provide sports equipment, and set up music systems and mini gyms for social events.

Apartments have become a key battleground. Candidates are not just talking to individuals; they’re engaging with apartment associations, which are groups of people who represent everyone living in an apartment. These associations are putting forward their problems, seeking solutions, and becoming important decision-makers in the election.

Candidates are also broadening their efforts to include colony associations, caste groups, and associations representing women and youth. In some cases, to gain an edge, a candidate is planning to distribute essential items through community leaders just before voting day.
