TS Govt blackmailing us – Corporate Hospitals

One more controversy is brewing for the Telangana government. This time it is between the government and the Corporate hospitals in the state regarding the cashless health insurance scheme for government employees. the corporate hospitals are refusing to treat the employees under this scheme as they do not fit in to the Aarogyasri scheme intended for the Below Poverty Line Families and are demanding a hike in tariff of this cashless health insurance scheme for government employees.

The hospital managements informed the government Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries treated in general wards of private hospitals and the government employees can not be treated as the BPL beneficiaries.However Government is in no mood to budge. It has sent in a stern message to hospitals that those not participating in the cashless health insurance scheme will not be eligible for Arogyasri.

Representatives of such hospitals are alleging that government is trying to blackmail them when they are offering quality and amicable treatment. The hospitals are demanding the government to provide them the existing tariffs in Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and NIMS which is 30% to 40% higher than the existing Aarogyasri tariffs.
