TS govt did not request for Merged Mandals!

In a shocking revelation, The Central government on Wednesday has stated that Telangana government did not officially place any request to stop the merging of seven submerging mandals of Polavaram project in to Andhra Pradesh.

Replying to a question asked by Telangana MP Palvayi Govardhanreddy, the Union Minister has stated that there is no such request from Telangana government and the issue is now closed with those mandals being added in to East Godavari and West Godavari. It is shocking that TRS party which called for a bandh immediately when the ordinance was released did not attempt to retain those mandals.

It is known that these 7 mandals (excluding Khammam Town) get submerged when Polavaram Project is constructed. Since it will be difficult to carry out rehabilitation works in these villages if they are in Telangana. So, these mandals are transferred to Andhra Pradesh for administrative convenience by a bill placed in Parliament in July month.
