TS Govt hires Senior SC Lawyer in Phone Tapping case!

Telangana government seem to have taken the case of Phone Tapping seriously. The state government had roped in Senior Supreme Court lawyer, Ram Jethmalani to present their case in high court. Currently the hearing is on and Ram Jethmalani is arguing that Vijayawada Metropolitan Court has no jurisdiction over Telangana to ask for the call data in Phone Tapping case.

It is known that Telangana government had approached the Hyderabad high court over Vijayawada Metropolitan court’s order to Service Providers to give the call data of some numbers in the phone tapping case. The government said that they have tapped some phone to maintain public order. Revealing the call data is hindrance to the government duty.

It is known that Supreme Court asked the Service Providers to give the information to Vijayawada court in sealed cover and asked the court not to open the cover for a month so that concerned parties may approach high court with their objections.
