TTD Registers Under GST

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has estimated the burden due to GST to the tune of 32 Crores. TTD has registered itself in GST. The New Tax Regime will be imposed on Rented Rooms which will cost more than 1000 Rupees and Marriage Halls whose rent is more than 10000.

There are only 14% Rooms which will cost above 1000. So, the effect of GST on common devotees will be Zero. GST is exempt from Laddu Prasadam and Darshan Tickets but the raw materials for the preparation of Prasadam will have the burden of GST.

Rooms which costs above 1000 will attract 12% GST and the Marriage Halls above 10000 Rent will attract 18% GST. On the other side, TTD has 24 Crores of Demonetized Notes which the central government is not allowing it to exchange.
