TV9 which is currently banned in Telangana along with ABN for promoting anti-state strategy through their telecasts is under pressure to get the ban lifted. Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABC), which promotes bouquet of TV9 channels in different languages has initiated taks with Telangana MSOs to lift the ban. The current promotors are trying to exit from the business and are planning to sell off their stake.
The Telangana ban is lessening the evaluation. So the channel is in talks with the MSOs and offered them uncondition apology to get the ban lifted. It is known that Telangana MSOs have firmly held their ground on the ban issue despite the courts and the Union government pressurizing them to lift the ban. Last week they have clarified the government that they can not resume the channel services since Telangana people do not want to watch those channels.
