Twin cities on anvil in Andhra Pradesh

If the dreams of AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu comes true, the truncated Andhra Pradesh will also have twin cities in the lines of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in Telangana. The state government is planning to develop Vijayawada and Amaravati as twin cities.

While Hussainsagar connects Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Amaravati and Vijayawada will be connected by a new Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network. This plan will ensure the growth and development of both the cities. Vijayawada in AP is already a developed city but lacks proper infrastructure to usher.

The state government’s plan is already forwarded to the Singapore Experts team for their opinion. Along with Amaravati and Vijayawada, Chandrababu Naidu’s government is also focused on developing Guntur, Sattenapalle, Tenali, Nuzivid, Gannavaram, Gudivada and Nandigama as regional centers.
