Two Indian Students Missing At Monroe Lake

Often times, innocuous activities can quickly turn awry. Here’s one such instance involving a couple of Indian students who are studying at the Indiana University.

Siddhant Shah, 19, and Arya Vaidya, 20 were boating along with their friends at Monroe Lake on Saturday afternoon.

They anchored the boat in the middle of the lake to take a swim. But little did they know, this could turn out to be fatal.

Both Siddhant and Arya went underwater while taking the swim and didn’t head back to the surface. The worried friends called for emergency support team and a rescue operation started shortly after.

Indiana Conservation officers used SONAR technology to trace the students and also expert scuba divers were commissioned for the job.

It is essentially understood that a strong current at the lake pulled away several kids away from the boat while they set out to swim.

The two students who went underwater are yet to be traced. With close to 48 hours passing away, things are starting to look gloomy and bleak. The parents and family are now hoping for a miracle to get back their kids.

The rest of the group was shifted back to the university and they’re being counselled.
