Two MLC Seats Elections: Janasena Obligation?

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has released the schedule to fill up two vacant MLC seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council under the MLA quota.

The two seats fell vacant following the resignation of Shaik Mohammed Iqbal and the disqualification of C Ramachandraiah. They resigned from YSR Congress and joined TDP just before the elections. Both the leaders had the tenure till March 29, 2027.

The TDP-led NDA is all set to win the two MLC seats without any election as the strength of Opposition YSRC in the State Assembly is 11 only.

There is a chance that Chandrababu can renominate the same leaders.

If he has some other idea. There are two obligations because of the alliance.

SVSN Varma Sacrificed Pithapuram ticket for Janasena President Pawan Kalyan. He should be given the ticket.

And then, Konakalla Narayana gave up the Machilipatnam MP ticket to Janasena Balashoury. He should be given a chance. Moreover, Konakalla is a senior leader. So, he has to be accommodated immediately.

Both the leaders worked very well to ensure the 100% Vote Transfer and played a big role in the victory of the Janasena in those candidates.

As per the schedule, the last date for filing nominations is July 2. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on July 4. In all probability, no other candidates will file their nomination and the candidates put up by Chandrababu Naidu will be elected unopposed.
