Two Orphans Waiting for Modi’s Reply

Two Orphans from Kota in Rajasthan have written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow the deposit of 96500 Rupees in Old Notes saved by their bereaved mother. The boy is 16 years old and his sister is 12 years old.

His father expired while his mother was recently murdered. The children were shifted to Orphans’ Home and while the Police searched their house, this money in Old Notes was found. They have written to the Prime Minister to rescue them in this crisis.

But then, this is not an isolated problem. Several commoners are suffering as they have failed to deposit their notes in banks by December 30th. Earlier, the Prime Minister told the country that people could deposit those notes in RBI branches till March 31st. But then, only NRIs who are out of the country are being allowed that too under strict norms.
