Uma Bharati clarifies Polavaram confusion

Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati the other day at the Parliament tried to clear the confusion over Polavaram Project. She clarified that Center will be completing the project and will release the necessary funds. She also added that her ministry clarified its stance over 70-30 proposal put up by the PMO.

We already know that Uma Bharati objected Prime Minister’s Office proposal of bearing the expenses of the project in 70:30 ratio with Center bearing the major share. Uma Bharati then said that such a move will amount to violation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and Center has to bear 100% expenses of the National Project.

Uma Bharati also asserted that there will be no problems for the project from Odisha. She offered to talk with the state MPs and address their concerns in this issue. The Union Water Resources Minister reiterated that the project should be completed in time for the greater good of the nation.
