21st YSR Congress MLA Confirms Shift to TDP

Reports are emerging that Pamarru MLA, Uppuleti Kalpana is confirmed to join TDP. She reportedly met AP TDP President Kala Venkat Rao a little while ago. She is likely to join TDP in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in a couple of days.

Incidentally, Kalpana was criticizing TDP and Chandrababu Naidu for encouraging the defections. But then, Kalapana’s followers say it will be very tough to stay in YSR Congress as the party has no future. They say the prospects looks extremely weak in Krishna and Guntur districts.

Kalpana does not want to risk her future staying in YSR Congress. Kalpana is the lone woman winner of YSR Congress in 2014 elections. Kalpana was earlier in TDP. She lost in her first two attempts in 2004 and 2009 on Telugu Desam party ticket in the same constituency and finally joined YSR Congress in Jagan’s wave.
