US refuses to drop charges on Devayani!

Looks like the Diplomatic war between Indian and US is not going to end any sooner. Even after stiff resistance from Government of India and retraction on US diplomats in India, Us refuses to drop charges on Devayani Khobragade who was arrested in US few days ago on the charges of Visa fraud. State department spokeswoman Marie Harf said, “Nobody is walking away from the charges… the judicial process is independent of the state department”.

These comments indicate that Devayani is not getting respite any sooner. Harf also revealed that the complaining maid’s family is being blackmailed back in Delhi and assured that US will intervene and safeguard at the right time. In a counter move, India moved Devayani to UNO where she enjoys bigger immunity but the process is still incomplete.
