Andhra Pradesh politics got largely streamlined after the removal of YCP from power. Usually abusive YCP leaders who used to badmouth Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and others during the previous Jagan regime have silenced up.
One of the main individuals who was unnecessarily abused during the previous regime was Vallabhaneni Vamsi. He made extremely regressive comments on Chandrababu and his family members to win the praises of Jagan.
But immediately after YCP lost the 2024 election and Vamsi himself ended up losing Gannavaram he went completely silent. In fact, he was even arrested in the process and held in jail for a couple of months.
Overall, Vamsi had been away from the political scene for the last 30 months and kept his public appearances also strictly limited.
But now, after a big break, it appears that Vamsi is back in the scene as he has publicly communicated that he will be sticking to Gannavaram. He gave the implication that Jagan is continuing to be him, and he will definitely come back stronger.
Vamsi had already lost a significant portion of his cadre in Gannavaram due to inactivity and extreme allegations of corruption. So coming back from this point to actually staging a comeback might be a task much easier said than done.
But what is for certain is that Jagan appears to be believing in the ability of Vamsi in Gannavaram and his MLA contention is guaranteed in 2029. But the real question obviously lies with the prospect of actually winning this seat which is going to be tough.
