Vasantha Krishna Prasad May Trigger New Calculations In TDP

Mylavaram YSR Congress MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad is sending out signals that he may leave the party soon. Vasantha Krishna Prasad was in TDP previously.

He is the son of former home minister Vasantha Nageswara Rao. So, it may be a homecoming for Vasantha. Rumors in the Krishna district are that Vasantha may get a Jagayyapeta ticket in 2024 as Kamma voters are around 60,000 there.

Sriram Tatayya who represented the constituency in 2009 and 2014 lost here in 2019. He is facing heat from his own leaders in the constituency.

Chandrababu Naidu feels it is better to shift him to the Vijayawada West constituency. Sriram Tatayya is a Vysya and there are around 30K Vysyas voters in that constituency.

Vijayawada West constituency came into existence after delimitation. In all three elections that happened after that, TDP is yet to open its account.

There are also rumors that both Krishna Prasad and Devineni Uma may not get the Mylavaram ticket and it may go to MP Kesineni Nani’s daughter, Swetha.
