Naidu to get a demotion?

If the news emerging from political circles is to be believed, Venkaiah Naidu may be politically demoted. Reports are emerging that BJP high command had dropped Rajya Sabha extension plans for Venkaiah Naidu and is planning to send him as Tamil Nadu Governor. He will be replacing Rosaiah as the state government. Technically Governorship is a highest honour. But over the years, it is the final destination of politicians at the end of their career and so it is treated more as political demotion.

If that happens to be true, Tamil Nadu will get to have two Telugu Governors back to back. This will also mean that Andhra Pradesh will be losing that only channel in Modi government. Venkaiah Naidu is currently the Union Minister for Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs. His Rajya Sabha term is finishing this June.

Earlier there were speculations that he may be nominated to Rajya Sabha once again from Andhra Pradesh with the help of TDP. But the political equations have changed very much after the Center had declined Special Status for the state. Then they said he may be nominated from Maharashtra.
