Venkaiah Naidu to kill Special Status issue?

Modi government seem to be banking on Venkaiah Naidu to kill the Special status issue. Incidentally it is Venkaiah who raked the issue in Rajya Sabha back then and made the then Prime Minister commit for it in the house. The government planned to close the issue for now by calling Rajya Sabha sine die today.

The voting on the Private Member bill put up by Congress MP KVP Rama Chandra Rao will come up for voting tomorrow. However Gujarat Congress MP Praveen Rashtrapal passed away this morning and the house had to adjourn for tomorrow due to this unexpected incident. We will have to see if Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu will come up with some thing new tomorrow to stop the voting.

TDP also decided to vote on favour of the bill. If the bill is passed in Rajya Sabha, it will be a huge embarassment for the ruling party. However along with the Congress, other parties should also support the bill for it to pass in the upper house. Lets see what happens tomorrow!
