Vijaya Sai Reddy’s Letter to Amit Shah Backfired?

Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy, the Accused Number 2 in all the disproportionate and money laundering cases of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had written a letter to Union Home Minister, Amit Shah a few days ago. He appealed to the Home Minister to post a non-Telugu officer as the Joint Director of CBI in Hyderabad.

Citing former CBI JD Lakshminarayana, Vijayasai Reddy alleged him for having mala fide intention behind the investigation of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s DA case in 2012. He said that the former JD has had an inclination towards TDP and Chandrababu Naidu. “The current JD of CBI-ACB Hyderabad Mr. AYV Krishna is also a Telugu officer with strong political inclinations,” Vijaya Sai Reddy alleged.

Adhering to Vijay Sai Reddy’s request, the Central Government has appointed Gujarat cadre IPS officer Manoj Sasidhar (1994 batch) as joint director of CBI in Hyderabad. But then, this appointment may not excite Jagan or Vijaya Sai Reddy much. Political experts say that appointing a Gujarat Cadre IPS officer will mean that Modi and Amit Shah would micromanage the cases.

For those who do not know, both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah hails from Gujarat. Manoj Sasidhar who hails from Kerala was one of the trusted officers when Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He was appointed in several important positions during Modi’s regime there.
