New Terminal Building at Vijayawada Airport

Vijayawada airport will soon have a new integrated terminal building to handle rising passenger traffic and improve the flying experience. The project is expected to be completed in the next two to three months.

Like several other airports, the new terminal will feature the UDAN Yatri Cafe, offering tea for Rs 10 and coffee, snacks, and other items around Rs 20. It will be the seventh airport in India to include this facility.

The new building will also bring international connectivity, with services between Vijayawada and Singapore set to begin. On the domestic front, flights to Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Kochi, and Pune will be added.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu said India now has 160 operational airports, giving smaller towns better access to air travel. With Amaravati being developed as the capital, Vijayawada airport is expected to handle higher passenger volumes due to the region’s economic growth.
