Andhra Pradesh IT Minister, Nara Lokesh has been very vocal with regard to his schematic plan for the development of the IT infrastructure in the state. A crucial step in this direction is being taken with the establishment of the Google data centre in Vizag.
For the last few months, the YSR Congress ecosystem has been making several allegations on this Google data centre as they had been commenting that it was destroying the local environment.
The narrative is being in such a way that this Google data centre will consume a lot of freshwater and commenting that AP cannot afford something like this, which could lead to water depletion.
While the YCP has been carrying this vested narrative, Lokesh has debrief on this matter, and he stuck to the point that is most important now.
Lokesh pointed out that this Google data centre will 70% renewable energy that is produced naturally, and it will also utilise the Polavaram water for cooling purpose. This water is anyway, going to waste into Bay of Bengal and is now going to be used for a positive reason for this Google data Centre.
Along with that, this particular facility will start to use desalination facility that will reuse water and reduce dependency on fresh water. It is evident that several measures are being taken to reduce the environmental impact of this particular data Centre, which could create a new technological wave in Andhra Pradesh.
