Vizag Metro DPR at Venkaiah Naidu’s Disposal

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is giving final touches for the Detailed Project Report of the upcoming Vishakapatnam Metro Rail Project. Sridharan will be submitting the DPR to the state government in the next couple of weeks. The project is proposed on three corridors totaling 42 Kms.

The DPR will also include the details of properties to be affected and widening of roads, if required. It is estimated that the project will cost 206 Crore per Kilometer. The DPR is prepared to solve the traffic issues of the city also keeping in mind the future requirements.

Metro Rail projects to Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam are one of the many promises made to the new Andhra Pradesh during the state bifurcation. Things are expected to move at a better pace since the Union Urban Development ministry that undertakes Metro projects is with Venkaiah Naidu from Andhra Pradesh.
