Vote For Note: Revanth Called To Court

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy faced a setback in the 2015 Vote For Note case as the Nampally Court summoned him for a hearing on October 16.

This morning, the trial took place at Nampally Court. However, none of the accused, including Revanth Reddy, Mathaiah, Uday Simha, Vem Krishna Keerthan, Sandra Venkata Veeriah, and Sebastian, were present.

The court expressed frustration over the absence of the accused in this Enforcement Directorate case. However, it chose to forgive them and ordered their attendance at the next hearing on October 16.

In 2015, while serving as an MLA, Revanth Reddy was caught offering Rs. 50 lakhs to Anglo-Indian nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson in exchange for a favourable vote in the MLC election. He was eventually arrested and later released on bail.

Recently, BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the trial to the Madhya Pradesh High Court, citing delays in the investigation within Telangana courts.

However, the Supreme Court dismissed his petition, stating that the case could not be transferred as it is still ongoing in the current court.
