He narrated how passionately the movie was made, how legend Brahmanandham came on board, how the movie carries some beautiful human emotions, etc.

Further, we tried to tap Rahul Yadav’s experience of making small films (Malli Rava, Agent Sai Sreenivas Athreya, Masooda and now Brahmanandham) to understand the dynamics of making impressive small films.

How an aspiring director should approach a producer? Will a producer do a film for a new director with zero experience?

Will a director be paid for his first film? If yes, how much?

He also had some interesting insights for new producers making their debut.

“Before starting the shoot, do a test shoot for two days. Pick the most difficult scenes of your films. Do the Test Shoot without any compromise. Do the Post-production for the footage as well. You will have an idea if the script is translating on to the scene and if the director is capable. Even if you lose 15-20 Lakhs, it will be completely worth,” Rahul Yadav explained.

We also asked him some interesting questions like – What is the bare minimum budget needed to make a film? How much should be spent on the Post-Production and what is the most cost-effective marketing for small films? etc.

Rahul Yadav also spoke about the current Music market for small films, how he could not even 20% of what he spent for music for all his films so far.

He narrated how he started his own music label this time. He also explained what it is starting a music label, how the revenues are generated and how the IP rights can be retained forever.

He also spoke about the OTT market, how the Pay Per View model of 6 Rupees per Hour is bullshit, etc.

Finally, he also explained what is an ‘Own Risk Release’ when a producer decides to release a film on his own which is the case with small films most of the time.
