West Godavari district gave fifteen out of fifteen seats to TDP+ in 2014 elections. Back then, TDP won fourteen and BJP won one seat in the district.
Due to the TDP and Janasena alliance, Political Experts say both Godavari districts should go one way in favor of the alliance this time as well.
As per the reports, there are nine sure-shot winning seats for TDP+ while there is only one such seat (Polavaram) for YSR Congress in the district.
Achanta, Narasapuram, Palakollu, Tadepalligudem, Kovvuru, Tanuku, Undi, Denduluru, and Eluru are the seats where TDP+ are leading.
Giving the ST-reserved seat of Polavaram complicated the seat and YSR Congress is leading there.
TDP+ has a slight edge in Bhimavaram and Nidadavole. Both of them are Janasena seats.
YSR Congress has a slight edge in Gopalapuram, an SC-reserved constituency.
There is a keen contest happening in Unguturu and Chintalapudi (SC).
If we put the edge seats into the account of respective parties, TDP+ has eleven favorable seats while YSR Congress has only two.
The results can change for the better in TDP’s favor if there is a wave in the last three weeks.
In the thirty-four seats of both the Godavari districts, TDP+ is looking at 24 seats with Keen contests in six seats. Only four seats are decisively in favor of YSR Congress so far.
