What Forced Modi Govt to Go Back on TTD Order?

After writing a letter to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthama Executive Officer to co-operate with the officials to explore the possibility of bringing the temple under the purview of Archaeological Survey of India, the Central Government withdrew the order.

A severe public backlash and reports of various Mutts of Karnataka gearing up to condemn the action of the Central Government forced Modi Government to withdraw the order. They said it is a mistake of an official and was done without the approval of the concerned ministry.

The Central Government reacted swiftly so as to contain the damage in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections. This seems like an unnecessary Self-Goal by BJP ahead of the elections. However, devotees are worried if this order will be brought back after the elections in some other form.
