The Corporation engaged some contractors various relief works like repairs of the water supply system, underground drainage repair works, street lights, roads, tree cutting, removal of garbage and timber debris, purchasing diesel for running generators during the power outage in the city limits after the cyclone.
The total bills amount to 14.2 Crore and there is a loss of Rs 2,165 crore due to the Cyclone. The State government was supposed to reimburse the amount for relief works but it yet to give a single penny to the corporation even after two months of the disaster.
