What Happened Behind The Doors For KCR Abandoning Snap Polls Idea?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has been giving feelers about early elections to the State Assembly. The Chief Minister planned to dissolve the assembly in September and go for Snap Polls in November along with Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.

But all of sudden, he rubbished the idea the other day and even went on to say that there is no use with such an idea. What happened behind the scenes is interesting? To have Snap Polls at such short notice, Election Commission should have clearance by the Central Home Ministry.

KCR took it to notice of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and promised to co-operate in post-poll alliances if the need arises after 2019 elections if the center allows the elections in November. Amit Shah who is in touch with KCR regarding the same, however, was pressing for a Pre-Poll alliance right from the Assembly Elections.

Amit Shah was not ready to trust KCR after he knows how the TRS Supremo deserted Congress after the Bifurcation. But KCR is not ready given that such a move will drive the minorities to Congress. Both the sides were hell-bent on their stance. Finally, KCR decided to drop the idea and not to play into the hands of the BJP high command.
