What happened in Modi-Rajinikanth meet?

The media has gone frenzy with the news of personal meeting between Superstar Rajinikanth and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi about a possible political statement from the Superstar. But it all fell flat. It is said that Modi is calling up on Rajinikanth to ask him his support for the upcoming elections but the actor as always stood on his apolitical stand.. After the meeting, Rajinikanth just said, “We are good friends. This was a courtesy call. When I was unwell, Modi ji wished me well. We wish him well in the elections,”

In return, Modi wished Rajinikanth on the occasion of Tamil New year. Later on they hugged each other and Modi very soon left to a Public meeting in Chennai. BJP is gearing up to project this meeting and Rajinikanth’s words as an endorsement to BJP in Tamil Nadu. It is known that Tamil Nadu politics are more dominated by regional parties. BJP is desperate to bag a handful of seats from the Tamil state this time at any cost.
