Who Gets Jubilee Hills BRS Ticket This Time?

Jubilee Hills is known as the richest constituency in Hyderabad, with a mix of cine actors, businessmen, political leaders, billionaires, settlers, and poor people residing there. Maganti Gopinath, who represented the constituency, gained popularity in the Telugu states.

After winning on behalf of TDP in 2014, he made an appearance in Pragati Bhavan and covered himself with a pink scarf, indicating that he had no intention of changing parties. However, in 2018, he contested and won as a candidate of BRS.

With the upcoming Assembly Elections in Telangana, there are reports of potential changes in tickets for BRS candidates. About 20 to 35 sitting MLAs could see their tickets being changed by the BRS party and Chief Minister KCR. Maganti Gopinath’s name is rumored to be on the list of sitting MLAs whose tickets may be reconsidered.

Surveys conducted in Jubilee Hills have reportedly shown negative results for Maganti Gopinath, particularly in areas like Erragadda, Borabanda, Yusufguda, Srinagar Colony, and Shakepet. Many residents in these areas feel that giving the ticket to Maganti might lead to a certain defeat for the party.

There are concerns among the people regarding the state of roads and drainage in the constituency, which seems to have impacted his popularity. As a result of the survey findings, former Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and Ravula Sridhar Reddy have begun canvassing for the BRS ticket in the constituency.

Baba is particularly interested in areas like Erragadda, Yusufguda, and Borabanda. He aims to secure the ticket with the support of the social class in Shakepet and is prepared to seek recommendations from MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who also has direct contacts with Chief Minister KCR. If this happens, it is suggested that MIM might have no chance of fielding a candidate in Jubilee Hills.
