Why Chandrababu did not go to VIP ghat?

Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reached Rajahmundry to console the victims of morning stampede. He alleged that Chandrababu took the holy dip in Pushkar ghat instead of VIP ghat and it is the prime reason for the mishap. Jagan is partly correct on this issue but is largely wrong. There is a temple of Godha maatha at the Pushkar ghat.

This morning when Pushkaralu muhurtham arrived at 6.25 AM, the Chief Minister will have to give the traditional Cheera Saare on the behalf of the state government. The Cheera Saare comes from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Godha Maatha is treated as the sister of Lord Venkateswara Swamy. Chandrababu gave the Cheera Saare at Pushkar Ghat where the temple is located and for this reason he did not go to the VIP ghat.

Chandrababu Naidu’s schedule was confirmed several days ago and arrangements were made. It was also informed in media that Chandrababu will give the Cheera Saare and Akhanda Harathi to Godavari at the start of the auspicious Pushkaralu. Unfortunately, the rumours of electric wire broken and failure on the execution of the plan resulted in the stampede which has taken the lives of 35 people.
