Why Hyderabad is a Cash Cow to Telangana?

Hyderabad is called the cash cow of Telangana. It may have not easily got that name. A report with the government fully justifies the name. According to it, government holds 2602 acres of land in the capital devoid of any legal issues. These lands even if sold at 10 Crore per acre will fetch the state a whopping 26000 Crore.

Telangana government has announced its plans to sell some lands in Hyderabad to meet the requirements of various programs planned in the new state. Government has announced to pool in 6000 Crores this fiscal from selling the lands. Even if the state encountered some issues selling all of this 2602 acres, government can easily manage the targeted 6000 Crore by selling few lands.

Also there are 1000s of acres of land in Ranga Reddy too which are equally costly. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had ordered the officials to prepare agenda to sell some of these lands phase by phase. According to this report, government also has 295.15 acres of land in legal tangles. KCR had asked the officials to speed up the process and try to get back those lands as soon as possible.
