Why Media Is After Sindhu’s Skirt?

In another incident which shows the judgemental eyes of the media and also our nation, sport-star PV Sindhu was judged on her clothing choices even as she stepped out to meet PM Modi. The PM met the exemplary players of Rio Olympics and Khel Ratna awardees PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik, Dipa Karmakar and Jitu Rai at his residence.

Delighted with this meet, the PM also tweeted about his meeting PV Sindhu saying “Delighted to meet you (Pvsindhu1). Every Indian is so proud of what you accomplished.”But even as the PM expressed his joy over the meet-up, others were busy judging Sindhu on the blue knee-length skirt she wore to the formal event. Few English newspapers published articles criticizing Sindhu for not having time to change her skirt.

Sindhu, however, took all this in stride and even wrote on Instagram “Such an incredible experience meeting PM Modi! Just wish I had time to change as I was being rushed from the airport….thank u for ur support and wishes.” Surprisingly most people also replied in favour of Sindhu saying that it was her play that mattered, not her clothes!
