Why NTR For Vijayawada? Why Not Vangaveeti?

Andhra Pradesh Government has named a few districts after NTR, Sathya Sai, Alluri, Annamayya etc. But then Kapu Veteran leader Hari Rama Jogayya says Kapus are upset with Jagan.

“It’s okay you have named districts after some popular people and Gods. But how could you forget Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga,” Jogayya questioned.

“Vijayawada is not named after Mohan Ranga even though he hails from the place. At least Bandar district should be named after Vangaveeti. It is unfortunate Jagan did not do it in first place. Kapu community is hurt,” he added.

Jogayya seems to be indirectly opposing naming Vijayawada after NTR. But then, gone are those where people would entertain encouraging Kamma – Kapu conflict like in bygone days.

Probably for that reason only, Jogayya stopped making a controversial comment and put up an alternate request of naming Bandar district after Vangaveeti.

We will have to see Jagan Mohan Reddy takes this demand into consideration.
