It is known that YS Sharmila merged her YSRTP in Congress today and joined AICC in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. But this event had no Telangana Congress leaders in attendance.
Incidentally, TPCC president and the chief minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy was also in Delhi while Sharmila joined Congress. But he decided to give the event a skip.
Revanth is in Delhi to take part in the AICC meeting and discuss Congress’s plan of action for the coming MP elections in Telangana. With a notable leader like Sharmila joining in Congress, the expectations are that Revanth Reddy who is also in the city might attend the event, but that didn’t happen.
No other Telangana Congress leaders were seen in Sharmila’s joining event. This has led to a narrative on social media that the absence of Telangana leaders today could mean that Sharmila has been accorded AP Congress responsibilities and she will be active in AP and not in Telangana.
If that is the case, Sharmila will be sizing up against Jagan in the next few months as AP goes for polls in March or April.
