Will 2019 See The Return of Naidu’s Clout at the Center?

Chandrababu Naidu who played the role of King Maker whenever there is a non-Congress government at the center has registered a decline in the clout at the Center in the recent years. This is due to the fact that BJP has come to power with no dependence on its allies.

For this reason, the saffron party did not even sit for talks when TDP announced quitting the NDA. Naidu on several occasions himself repeatedly declared that he is not interested in national politics and will confine himself to his state and its development.

But then, the situation may change in 2019 if there is a chance for a coalition at the Center. “If at all there is a non-Congress coalition government, it needs to be stitched by our leader who has extensive contacts across all the parties in the country. Its just a matter of time,” a source in TDP says.
