Will Amaravati Farmers Trust Pawan Kalyan At Least Now?

While BJP is confining only to lip service to the Amaravati cause and is indirectly aiding the three capitals of the YSR Congress Government, its ally, Janasena Party has filed an affidavit before the Andhra Pradesh High Court supporting Amaravati as the only capital of the state.

In the affidavit, the Janasena party went on to say that one state, one capital, and inclusive development of all 13 districts should be the policy of the government and parties should not change policies as and when there is a change in government after each election.

On the other side, the high court had earlier said political parties could file affidavits on the issue but BJP is yet to file its affidavit. Despite being vocal in support of Amaravati, Pawan Kalyan’s commitment to the cause is being doubted due to the attitude of BJP. The fact that he immediately canceled the proposed Amaravati tour after the alliance with BJP reinforced the doubts.

29,481 farmers have given 34,322 acres of land in the Land Pooling Policy of Chandrababu Naidu for the construction of Amaravati. Among these farmers, 5,227 farmers have given One to Two acres of land while another 3,337 farmers have given Two to Five acres of land. So, it will be the small and medium scale farmers that will be the most affected due to the Government’s decision.
