Will BJP corner Chandrababu yet again?

Telugu Desam Party had accommodated BJP Leader Nirmala Sitaraman (Wife of Parakala Prabhakar) in their quota of Rajya Sabha seats and ensured that she gets a berth in Union Cabinet. Despite getting a crucial industries and Commerce ministry, Andhra Pradesh did not benefit much from Nirmala Sitaraman.

There is intense competition in TDP for Rajya Sabha seats since the party allowed several leaders from Congress before 2014 elections. So Chandrababu did promise Rajya Sabha seat to some seniors. At that point, accommodating Nirmala Sitaraman is a brave decision Naidu has to take for the interests of the state.

Now four Rajya Sabha seats from AP are falling vacant and the elections will happen in May. TDP is certain to get three and is also trying for the fourth through Operation Akarsha on YSRCP MLAs. Now BJP is asking one more Rajya Sabha seat from TDP’s quota. This is cornering Chandrababu because the center is already doing very less to the state and BJP severed its ties in the recent elections in Telangana. Lets see what he decides!
