Will Naidu foil his years old relation with Venkaiah?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu are close-aides over the decades and they never cease to use an oppurtunity to shower praises on each other. Venkaiah’s Rajya Sabha term is ending very soon and there are reports that TDP may back him or Nirmala Sita Raman for one more term from its quota.

But it is emerging that Naidu may not back both of them given as the special category status issue have a controversy in the state and backing them would send wrong signals that the alliance is all about power and posts. Naidu was hesistant to take a call as it would foil the relations with BJP but his polit bureau colleagues warned him of dire sequences politically if that happened.

Four vacancies will arise in AP in June of which the ruling party, based on its numbers in the assembly, can win three while the opposition YSR Congress can pocket the fourth seat. Given the back to back defections from YSR Congress to TDP, the ruling party is likely to lay stake on the fourth seat also.
