Will Naidu’s idea bailout KCR?

Telangana government had announced ambitious plans of bringing One Crore Acres in to cultivation and proposed various projects for that. However these projects have already started creating land acquisition problems for Telangana government. 14 Villages of Medak which are going to be submerged due construction of the Mallana Sagar reservoir are already agitating.

The government is only planning to acquire 20000 acres for this project. Six of these villages will come under KCR’s own constituency. The villagers are on roads protesting the state government. The state government officials reportedly advised the Chief Minister to adopt land pooling to come out of the mess.

Chandrababu Naidu government in Andhra Pradesh successfully used land pooling to collect about 33000 acres of land for Amaravati with out any ruckus. However the Chief Minister is hesitant to follow a practice of his Andhra counterpart due to the well known rivalry between both of them.
