Will Modi Help Tirumala Venkanna?

In a surprise move, Union Government had allowed Cooperative Banks and Post Offices to deposit Old 500 and 1000 Notes with RBI and get New Denominations till July 20th. This move of government came a surprise to everyone since it gives a chance to irregularities.

On the other side, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is sitting with 24 Crore worth Old Notes deposited in Hundis. TTD has requested the government many times to accept these notes but the requests are not bothered by the Union Government.

TTD has started its efforts once again to see if the government will allow depositing these notes. TTD officials say the flow of Old Notes has decreased considerably but they are coming occasionally in the Hundis indicating that they are mostly over even with the people.
