Will Pawan Kalyan Fall In BJP’s Trap?

BJP reached out to Janasena President Pawan Kalyan ahead of the Telangana Elections. Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy and MP Laxman met Pawan Kalyan earlier today.

But then, this is not with an alliance proposal. Telangana BJP is requesting Pawan Kalyan not to contest and support them unconditionally.

This is the worst proposal for any political party. Earlier, the BJP made a similar request in the GHMC elections as well and Pawan Kalyan obliged. Pawan Kalyan and Janasena got nothing in return.

Ahead of the Assembly elections, Telangana BJP is making a similar request. This request may impact the prospects of Janasena and TDP in Andhra Pradesh as well.

It is not clear if BJP will join the alliance of TDP and Janasena in Andhra Pradesh. This alliance in Telangana with no use really will also send a wrong signal to the voters of Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest will be a crucial election issue in AP and the narrative is that the BJP is aiding the YSR Congress in Revenge Politics. If there is no BJP in the alliance in Andhra Pradesh, Janasena supporting BJP in Telangana may prove to be counterproductive.

All this is with no dividends for Janasena. So, Pawan Kalyan should tread very carefully.

Pawan Kalyan has this habit of giving up if someone approaches him for help. BJP sensed it and is taking advantage of it. It happened in GHMC elections as well, so, he needs to be careful.
