Will Vamsi be Subjected to Third Degree?

The AP High Court has struck down Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s bail petition as was reported in the morning. The High Court asked Vamsi to approach a lower court for bail. Now the big question is about what step the Vijayawada SC/ST Court will decide.

The lawyer on Vamsi’s side Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy has said that Vamsi had stated that he knew nothing about what happened on the day of attack, in Court. The lawyer said Vamsi denied knowing about Satyavardhan’s issue either.

As the Court has prohibited third degree, as Vamsi denied any knowledge in the case, as Vamsi filed an affidavit, there was no need for Vamsi to be given for custody, said Reddy. He said they presented several rulings of the past to back up their argument.

However, the police argued that Vamsi’s custody is necessary for scene reconstruction.

Today happens to be 2 years since the TDP office was attacked and the sentiments are running high among TDP supporters.

It remains to be seen if Vamsi will be given for custody now that the arguments are completed. If that happens, what the YSRCP cadre are fearing might come true, say political analysts.

Meanwhile, the hearings on Vamsi’s health and custody petitions have concluded. The SC, ST Court will give a final decision tomorrow about his custody.
